At SISD, learning is a holistic experience. We offer an innovative, well-rounded education that carefully blends academic excellence with character-building experiences and opportunities for every child to pursue their passions.

This includes our extensive after-school activity (ASA) programme, which features an incredible array of sporting, creative, tech, and academic clubs, councils, and societies. Life-changing trips abroad build our students’ confidence and instil a global perspective.

Our students also develop and demonstrate their IB Learner Profile attributes through in-school, local, and global service projects. They do all this in an inclusive international community where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to be their very best.

Sport 
Sport is an important part of life at SISD, instilling pride, passion, and togetherness. We offer a huge variety of team and individual activities, which take place in some of the best sports facilities in Dubai. Talented athletes strive for excellence as part of our Speedo Swim Academy and Athletics Academy, while our school teams compete against the best in the country and overseas. We also offer recreational clubs for all abilities, from football and beach volleyball to padel tennis and water polo.

After-school activities (internal) 
Alongside sports, our internal ASA programme features a wide range of artistic, academic, and tech-focused opportunities. Our students’ natural creativity blossoms at origami, creative writing, and mindfulness art clubs. Lego builder, chess, and robotics activities put our learners’ critical thinking skills to the test, while our ‘entreprenursery’ and economic world cup groups cultivate the bright business minds of the future. We also encourage our students to pursue their passion for the performing arts through music lessons and the LAMDA curriculum and exams.

After-school activities (external) 
We work with the very best providers to offer an extensive range of external ASAs. Our Early Years children discover exciting new experiences at ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, engineering, and art attack clubs. In Primary, inquisitive innovators develop their problem-solving skills at virtual reality and ‘adventures in coding’ clubs, or try street jazz dance, parkour, and wall climbing. At Secondary, our young people have access to career and confidence coaching workshops, as well as an extraordinary simulator pilot programme.

Councils and societies 
Our student-led councils and societies bring likeminded Grade 6-12 learners together. Our House Council organises fun events and competitions, while our Sustainability Council works tirelessly to make our school and local community an eco-friendly place. Our engineering, medical, arts, and politics societies are dynamic groups where students bond over shared passions and explore pathways to potential careers.

Model United Nations 
Our popular Model United Nations (MUN) group simulates the work of United Nations delegates and committees. Being part of the MUN develops critical thinking, diplomacy, and public speaking skills, while simultaneously deepening our students’ understanding of international affairs. The programme also encourages teamwork and collaborative research. With a host of IB Learner Profile attributes and knowledge, our students go on to shine at prestigious local and global conferences.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award 
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award challenges our older students to find their purpose, passion, and place in the world. Our young people take part in adventurous activities, set personal goals and challenges, and get involved in community service projects that make a difference. As they progress through the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, they grow in confidence, develop a host of transferable skills, and learn more about themselves and others.

Global expeditions 
Life-changing international adventures enrich our students’ education, broadening perspectives and instilling a global outlook. On service trips to Tanzania, our Secondary learners demonstrate kindness, compassion, and determination as they support local communities. Our much-loved ski trip to Switzerland fosters fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories, while participation in prestigious sports tours like the World School Games offers our aspiring athletes the chance to compete on a global stage.

Residential trips 
Our Primary students embark on exciting overnight adventures at camps in the UAE, where they learn to work as a team and overcome challenges – forming lasting friendships in the process. The prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award gives our students the opportunity to take part in exciting outdoor activities, while members of our Model United Nations group showcase their debating skills at regional and international conferences.

Local excursions 
A variety of day trips within Dubai connect our students with the world around them – and offer exciting opportunities for fun and discovery. These include environmental activities like beach clean-ups, mangrove trips, and a day out at the jaw-dropping Green Planet indoor rainforest. Our younger students immerse themselves in experiential learning at the OliOli children’s play museum, while the spectacular Aventura zipline park is the perfect place to take on a challenge alongside friends.
