Frequently asked questions

  • When was TBS Warsaw founded?

TBS Warsaw was the first ever Nord Anglia Education school, opening its doors to 35 students in 1992. Since then, we've grown into a community of more than 1,100 students who learn across two modern campuses.

TBS Warsaw has also been an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) school for more than 20 years.

  • How do I apply to TBS Warsaw?

Our application process is tailored to your family’s needs and schedule, and our admissions team is here to help you every step of the way.

    • Start your admissions journey by completing our short enquiry form.
    • We'll arrange for you to take a tour of our campus. If you can't make it to Warsaw, we'll schedule a virtual meeting.
    • Next, you'll need to submit our online application form and provide a few supporting documents. We accept applications all year round.
    • If our school is the right fit for your child, we'll offer you a place.
  • Is there an application deadline?
No, we don't have an application deadline. At TBS Warsaw, new students can join us at any time during the academic year.
  • What do your tuition fees include?
The tuition fees you pay will ensure your child receives an exceptional education that inspires them to go further.

Our fees cover all formal teaching and learning, most of our extra-curricular activities beyond the classroom, and our world-class collaborations with MIT, Juilliard and UNICEF. These will provide the platform your child needs to discover their passions and unlock their full potential.
  • How will you ensure my child settles in quickly?

We're known for the warm welcome we offer new families and students.

Prior to your child's first day, we'll provide you with lots of information about life at TBS Warsaw. We'll also send you details about your child's class. We can put you in touch with a current family before your child starts, too.

We always arrange a ‘buddy’ for new joiners, who will help your child settle in. Our current students are keen to help newcomers thrive!

  • What curricula do you teach?

At TBS Warsaw, we teach a carefully curated mix of British and international curricula.

    • Early Years (ages 1-5): Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
    • Primary (ages 5-11): English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
    • Secondary (ages 11-16): English National Curriculum, including IGCSEs.
    • Upper Secondary (ages 16-19): International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
  • What size are your classes?

Our Pre-Nursery classes accommodate up to 16 students, while our Nursery classes have up to 18 children. In Reception and Year 1, we teach up to 20 students in each class.

The maximum size of our Primary and Secondary classes is 22 students.

  • What qualifications do your teachers have?
We only hire the most highly qualified teachers. All of our exceptional educators have several years’ experience, as well as a degree in teaching or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the UK (or equivalent). Most of our teachers are also native English speakers.
  • Do you have teaching assistants?
Yes, our Early Years and Primary classes have either one or two dedicated teaching assistants (TAs). Caring and enthusiastic, they expertly support our youngest learners through their early educational journey.
  • How do you support children with limited English?

We have an excellent English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme, which helps newcomers with little or no English.

Our children pick up the language incredibly quickly thanks to the quality of our teachers and engaging English-speaking environment.

  • Can you support children with special educational needs (SEN)?

TBS Warsaw is a fully inclusive school, and our specialist learning support department provides targeted assistance for children with additional educational needs.

If you believe your child would benefit from additional learning support, please get in touch with our admissions team to find out more.

  • Do you teach the Polish curriculum?

Polish is an integral part of our academic programme. From Year 2 through to Year 11, all native Polish students follow a curriculum based on the Polish Podstawa Programowa and approved by the Ministry of Education. This means that each learner receives their end-of-year Polish certificates (Świadectwo).

For non-native students, Polish is introduced as an additional foreign language from Year 1.

  • What other foreign languages do you offer?
A truly international school, we strongly believe in the importance of children learning the languages and cultures of other countries. From Year 4, all students can choose between French, German, and Spanish.
  • Do you offer after-school activities?

From Nursery onwards, all our students take part in our Learning Enrichment Activity Programme (LEAP) beyond the curriculum.

Our LEAP offering changes every term and includes a wide range of music, sports, and creative activities. Most clubs are free, although we occasionally bring in outside experts to deliver specialist activities. These often involve a fee.

  • How do you ensure good behaviour and manners?
Our school culture promotes respect for others, encourages self-expression, and nurtures self-esteem.

We strive to cultivate a safe and caring environment on our campuses, where everyone is unique, valued, and appreciated. We also actively reward students for demonstrating our values, which are integrated into assemblies and classroom learning.
  • How do you communicate with parents?

We work hard to build strong relationships with our parents.

In the Early Years and Primary, our teachers keep in touch with parents through a weekly class newsletter and dedicated communication platforms (Tapestry for Early Years, SeeSaw for Primary). We also produce a weekly school newsletter, send out termly reports, and schedule parent meetings throughout the year.

Should you need to get in contact, our teachers are always just an email away.

  • How can parents get involved in school life?

Our parents are an integral part of the TBS Warsaw community, and our school simply wouldn't be the same without their energy and enthusiasm.

Our active Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), for example, organises numerous family and charity events throughout the year, including coffee mornings, book swaps, an International Fair, quiz nights, and charity collections. The PTA also works closely with our leadership team to support the development of teaching and learning across the school.

  • Can I buy second-hand school uniforms?

Yes, our PTA second-hand uniform shop is located on our main campus. We sell school uniform that has been donated because students have outgrown it or because they have graduated.

The shop is open on Mondays between 7:55-8:15 am and on the last Tuesday of the month between 3:15-3:45 pm.

  • Where can I find school term and holiday dates?
You can find term and holiday dates on our school calendar.
  • How can I find out about school life and planned events?
All TBS Warsaw events are listed on our school calendar. We also announce them via our newsletter and social media channels. You can join our Facebook page for daily updates about life at our school, too.
